Herbs: The New Antibiotics? |

Several of the plants tested (from wild asparagus, desert date, false daisy, curry tree, castor oil plant and fenugreek.) were broad spectrum antibiotics against bacteria including E. coli, S. aureus and  Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the fungi Candida and Aspergillus.

Some of these herb extracts (e.g. curcumin) have been suggested to be of possible use in  atherosclerosis or Alzheimer's disease and others.
