The two drugs involved are the antidepressant Paxil, (paroxetine) and the cholesterol-lowering medication Pravachol (Pravastatin) which together cause increases in blood glucose levels - an unexpected finding as neither drug alone shows such an effect. The auhors used bioinformatics data mining methods to dig out these interactions and this is likely to be useful for other potentially dangerous drug interactions.
