N-Acetyl Cysteine Effective for Bipolar Depression

N-Acetyl Cysteine is a precursor for glutathione, a potent antioxidant that also protects oligodendrocytes.
 It also possesses antiviral and bactericidal properties: It appears to be effective in bipolar disorder and has also been used with some success in schizophrenia Refs. Glutathione deficiency is observed in many other diseases, as is oxidative stress, and the authors intend to pursue this avenue in autism.
