Omega 6-rich safflower oil has beneficial effects on blood lipids in diabetes

Safflower oil contains linoleic acid , an omega-6 fatty acid, and supplementation, in obese diabetic women, reduced abdominal fat, and increased levels of HDL cholesterol and adiponectin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and fats. It improved glycemia, inflammation and blood lipids. This may be useful in other diseases such as atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.
