Concerning the relationships between genes, risk factors and immunity in Alzheimer's disease, Autism, Bipolar disorder , multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia and chronic fatigue
Prof Trevor Marshall - Video: How Microbes cause Chronic Disease on Vimeo
Prof. Trevor Marshall addressed the issue of biological complexity in his presentation at the 5th Asian Congress on Autoimmunity, in Singapore, on 19 November 2011. He explored how the Human Microbiome leads to a semi-infinite Interactome, and how the combined metagenomes from the microbes living in and on the human body accumulate to cause chronic disease, including Autoimmune Disease.

An update - permission to pass along.
'CFS/ME is now accepted as an Immunological disorder
Last week's 2012 International Congress on Autoimmunity, in Granada, Spain, saw
presentations from myself (one plenary, one shorter) and from Inge Lindseth. I
also chaired two sessions.
There were 8 presentations on CFS at this Congress.
It is notable that among this top-notch audience of researchers and
rheumatologists there is now general acceptance that CFS/ME is an immunological
disease, most probably autoimmune, which can be detected using antibody assays.
IMO, that is a stunning step forward for the CFS/ME community.
Inge's video presentation can be found at

I am working on the video of my plenary session presentation, it should be
online sometime during the weekend.
Sincerely
Trevor'
Interesting research from France 10 doctors treated 200 children with Autism on antibiotics and 4 out of 5 symptoms improved.
Prof Luc Montagnier Nobel prize winner for his work with HIV was also interviewed about this study as was Prof Perronne of UCHG Paris - interesting point made by Prof Perronne that we need better testing for these microorganisms.
