Stressed Out | the epigenetic effects of stress passed on through generations

The paper in CELL  "Inheritance of Stress-Induced, ATF-2-Dependent Epigenetic Change" by Seong et al, showed that an epigenetic change ( heterochromatin disruption following stress) can be passed on to the next generation. This is very important as it shows a link between environmental risk factors and genetics - polymorphisms, mutations, deletions or copy number variations are not the only way of  inheriting risk.
