EEffects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug treatments on cognitive decline vary by phase of pre-clinical Alzheimer disease:

Naproxen  slowed cognitive decline in slow decliners while accelerating decline in fast decliners. Celecoxib appeared to have similar effects at first but then slowed the change in fast decliners.

Whether or not these drugs have an effect depends on the time of administration, and on the disease state.
