A Pseudomonas aeruginosa Toxin that Hijacks the Host Ubiquitin Proteolytic System : Increased degradation of CFTR (cystic fibrosis)

P.Aeruginosa is an important pathogen in cystic fibrosis: It secretes a toxin that inactivates a host cell deubiquitinating enzyme (USP10), which increases the degradation of the CFTR secretory chloride channel

This would further reduce the activity of the CFTR channel, already compromised by mutations in cystic fibrosis.
