Bacterial peptides are intensively present throughout the human proteome

The authors identified  47,610 total identical nonapeptide bacterial/human matches disseminated through 10,701 human proteins. Bacterial mimicry of human propteins is very extensive and crucial to our understanding of the roles of pathogens and the microbiome in human diseases.
