A Parkinson's disease environmental risk factor database

Parkinson's disease is one of the few diseases where the laboratory models faithfully match the environmental risk factors in the clinical setting. For example MPTP, rotenone or paraquat can all produce dopaminergic lesions in rodents or monkeys, as can infection with the influenza H5N1 virus in mice (see posts). This database sets out to curate the  multiple risk and protective factors that have been implicated in the human condition.

Risk factors can be added via the comments section on this post, or via a form on the website.
